Termite Treatment

Yesterday wasn't really a good time for a whole day of rest, for we had our house treated with chemicals to bust our number one enemy - the termites. It's because 40% of our furnitures are made of wood, and even some do exist some years ago until now, that's why these past few months, we've been trying to clean our house many times, searching for the things that has already been "termited", and burning or disposing them. But they just won't stop returning.

Termites will live on place where wooden furnitures, in our case, are attached to the wall where little volume of air is present, a condition we've meet. I won't wonder anymore.

So Mom decided to repeat what she did 10 years ago - treat our house with chemicals that will kill the pests that is living with us. And so the men responsible for the treatment came early yesterday. We immediately remove all of our stuffs in every rooms, and put them away in the living room, and ended up like this:

The first room that they fixed is my room. They brutally destroy my ceiling, created a hole and spray the chemicals all over the roof.

One of them removed the "cover" of every switch and outlet all over the house, and sprayed some gaseous chemical to disturb the other pests living near it. Then, they inspect everything that is made of wood, and pierced holes in it, so that the gas can freely circulate. He also spread some white stuff, he called "make-up" in every corner of the house. A very delicious delicacy which termites hate. :)

After that, the next room they destroy is my Mom's. Their cabinets are the termites' favorite hangout place, they keep returning after we disturbed them some weeks ago.

They removed every bit of it, and did the same process as what they did in my room.

The process took long until 630 pm. And after that, me, together with my cousin, helped Mom in cleaning the house, putting everything back where they belong. We've finished around 800 pm, and I am very, very, very dirty and smelly that time that the first thing I want to do is to take a bath before eating my dinner.

And so everything's back to normal. Oh wait, we haven't put back some of the glasswares that were removed from the divider. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. :D

Majoring Moments

After two years of blood and sweat trying to pass all of our subjects in the faculty where we belong, the Faculty of Engineering, the time has come for us to go our own ways, towards our major, me being a Chemical Engineering major.

Third year is the year for the students of Engineering to focus more on their major subjects, after having completed some required subjects in their former years. We emerged victorious in passing the triple-combo-subjects that most second year students fear, known as the CCP (Calculus, Computer and Physics). A big thanks to God for His help and support, and also to our family and friends that gave us that inspiration boost we need. :D

We started the first week of classes one week after the original date of the opening of classes, because of the epidemic swine flu. The first week was a very tiring one, because we need to adjust to our night shift schedule, a very different one compared to the traditional morning classes. From the time I became a student, since I was in grade school, my classes would start in the morning and will finish before lunch time. High school days would be a different one, because we are on whole day classes. But my first two college years is similar to my grade school schedule, until my third year. But I must say this will be a very challenging stage in my life, for this will attest how strong I am to take these tough moments in my life. :)

As what we've expected, the first week of classes isn't a regular one: some haven't met yet their professors, and some haven't even started some lessons. So there comes a time that we became vacant for a very long time. Luckily, some or almost all of my friends from my former section has the same vacant time as we have. So we had the chance to have a bonding moment together again. I really missed them, because they put the smile on my face whenever I need to have one.

I hope we continue to become a blessing to other people. :)
